Remix Wednesday: Moullinex – Take My Pain Away (Gigamesh remix) + Youngblood Hawke – We Come Running (G Templeton remix) + Owl City – Good Time ft. Carly Rae Jepsen (Branded James remix)

Hola! Anyone ready for a few CHOICE jams? Good to hear, because…

…it’s Remix Wednesday!

Remix Wednesdays on

First up, we have EASILY one of my favorite songs of the summer, the brand new Moullinex single “Take My Pain Away“, remixed by the one and only Gigamesh! So, you have one of the kings of funky disco in Moullinex, and one of the stars of the indie-disco scene with Gigamesh…how could it not be AWESOME?

Built upon funk riffs and smooth keys, with a stylish electric lead guitar, this track hits the gas early and never lets up. The group vocals take you into pure disco heaven, as you’ll notice your feet have been tapping for quite some time now. Summer doesn’t have to be quite over yet, and Gigamesh reminds why us with this one.

Next up, we have the slow jammin’ good time that is the G Templeton remix of Youngblod Hawke‘s “We Come Running“! Taking this tune poolside, G Templeton has crafted a gem with this one. Easy-going synths ride alongside the 80’s-tinged bass lines, with strings sliding into place behind it all, this track builds into a straight groover. While I may a bit biased (that whole…you know…“VIBESthing”…) but G’s productions are only continuing to grow and mature, and the future is wide open for this guy. Jam this one out!

And to finish off this most excellent day, we have another quality dude/producer who I have had the pleasure of getting to know, Branded James, and his remix of the Owl City/Carly Rae Jepson collaboration, “Good Time“! Now, the original track is obviously sugar-coated pop madness, literally dripping with hooks and breaking at the seams. But here, we have Branded taking this tune to a nearly-laid back 80’s discoteque, and he brings out a full range of synth glory to accompany this driving tune. Jamming in parts, subdued in others, this track is a prime example of Branded James’ growing production chops. You can also vote for his remix here.
