Hey Yo!

It's Video Friday, and we are ready to ROLL!

We got some good ones today, starting off with the new single from Rufus!

Rufus - This Summer

A dark and torrid tune/video, building upon a thumping bass line, sweeping into the reverberated vocal melody. Basically, this video perfectly fits the mood of the tune, which looks to be a 12-year-old's parents worst nightmare, or the best time of their lives...just like a good video should.

Next, the brand new video from Louis La Roche!

Louis La Roche featurng Ad-Apt - Untrue

Now this video, which starts off as a duo of break-dancing wolves confront a girl on a lonely road. Turns out, the girl can ALSO dance, and we have ourselves a DANCE OFF. Good times? Indeed.

Until next week,
Reid.

Video Friday: Look, Stranger – One for the King

by Reid Horton on March 30, 2012

Hey!  It's me, Reid.  And this, well this is...

In this special edition of Video Fridays, I'd like to feature just one video today, from the UK band Look, Stranger!

Coming fresh off of their second EP (entitled Kept It Alive), One for the King is a beautiful melody wrapped up tightly with intricate guitars and strong yet delicate bass lines.   With a funky beat, ominous breakdowns and a simply sublime synth, this song has all the makings of an excellent pop song.

Their brand of pop is an intelligent breed, mixing time signatures and melody in a familiar yet incredibly enticing fashion.   Already garnering excellent reviews from The Guardian and The Recommender, their super polished sound is starting to reverberate off eardrums all over the World.   And this friends, is a good thing.

Their EP will be released on April 9th, and I think I just may have to sneak them into a Review Tuesday post as well.

Have a great weekend!

Until next time,

Reid.

First up, one of my favorite bands of the last year, Gemini Club, and their awesome new video, "By Surprise".   Next, we will head over to a fantastic producer (and I believe) his first video, the stylish and elegant affair of "When You're Dancing" by Gigamesh.   And finally, we'll finish it off with another song of The Rapture's epic latest album, the title track "In The Grace of Your Love"!

All videos, no filler!  Enjoy!

The Rapture - In The Grace of Your Love

Until next time,

Reid.

So, the first video is part of a project that I am currently producing/directing with my company,  Open Future Media.   It is a combination live show/documentary about the band's 10 year Reunion and Reunion Show.   It's going to be really, really awesome.  To be released on 2.15.12.

Here is the first "single".  The band?  They are Better Off Dead.   The song?   "Checkered Vans".   Enjoy.

Treasure Fingers + Malente - "Crusaders"

Vincent Did It - "So, You're Alive"

Until next time,
Reid.

2011: The Year in Review

by Reid Horton December 20, 2011

Well guys and gals, we made it! This past year, I started a new garden, found a new business partner, and released the first remix I’ve ever made. This year has been long, joyous, tiresome, amazing, slighty underwhelming, extravagant, morally-devoid, enchanting, and about 40 other adjectives that describe alternating postive and negative connotations… …in other [...]

Tuesday. The Year in Review.  Wild World-style.  Be Ready. And now, some EXCELLENT music videos for a [...]
