Ready? Yeah?

GOOD. Because it’s VIDEO FRIDAY and we have a fire burning around here

Video Fridays! only on ReidsWildWorld.com

Turns out, that fire is just UK duo Disclosure and their meteoric rise in the last year, and with a recently released full length, I see no signs of slowing down.

So, to make things even MORE awesome, they decided to release a video for their new single, “When a Fire Starts to Burn“, and it is SOLID to say the least! Get healed, and we will see you next week!

Until next week,

Please raise your hands if you are ready for jams and/or tunes

It’s REMIX WEDNESDAY!

Remix Wednesdays on ReidsWildWorld.com

First up, a deep and winding house jam, courtesy of the talented Benoit and Sergio, and their remix of Hot Natured‘s “Reverse Skydiving” featuring Anabel Englund! Clean organ sounds, solid vocal cuts, and deep bass lines liter the background, causing nearly simultaneous head nodding and bobbing. With the fantastic vocal track from Anabel, this track seems to glide along somewhere above the clouds, in and out of a dreamy disco haze, tethered with a deep house sensibility. Get down, ASAP!

Hot Natured ft Anabel Englund – Reverse Skydiving (Benoit and Sergio remix)

Next, we get a little funky with an excellent remix of Jabberwocky’s “Photomaton” from Kartell! Thick stabs drive you forward, as a funked out synth bass reels you back in. The somewhat somber toned vocals add a layer of depth to this bouncing number, giving the disco a little soul. Been playing this one on repeat for about a week. Jam on.

Jabberwocky – Photomaton (Kartell remix)

And to close out the day, we have those space disco purveyors Cosmic Kids and their remix of a new Little Boots track, “Broken Record“! Perfectly paced, and building without being rushed, this grooving track bends in and out with phasing synths and the clean vocals of Little Boots, reaching a steady groove and driving it out from there. Excellent percussion highlights the rhythm of the song, and gets you into a whipped up into a controlled frenzy, showing you EXACTLY where the dance floor is located.

Little Boots – Broken Record (Cosmic Kids remix)

Until next time,
Reid.

Welcome back friends! Time for remixes!

It’s REMIX WEDNESDAY!

Remix Wednesdays on ReidsWildWorld.com

First up, we have the smooth touch of The Chainsmokers as they spice up “Trying To Be Cool” by Phoenix! Bouncing, driving, and a sense of meloncholia add the subtext to this track, carried by the excellent vocals from Phoenix. A rocking bass compliments the heavy synth work, laying a groove for the hints of french-touch that pop in and out of this track. With a slight detour into a disco-filled wonderland, this is a perfect track for a late night drive after a long night out. Smooth tune!

Phoenix – Trying To Be Cool (The Chainsmokers remix)

Next, we have Dutch duo Keljet featuring X Ambassadors, and the groovetastic Ride the Universe remix of “Love of a Life“! Whenever you let disco-funk purveyors like RTU get ahold of a vocal like this, dance floors better watch out. Heavy funk bass grooves slide alongside the house-tinged vocals, meeting in the middle with a dose of Zapp-esque vocoders to create a head-nodder perfect for poolside scenes. Driving without being overbearing, and enough spice to last throughout, this is another fine example of Ride the Universe being themselves: AWESOME.

Keljet feat. X Ambassadors – Love Of A Life (Ride The Universe remix)

And to close out the day, we have a bouncy remix from RAC, with a take of YACHT‘s “Second Summer“! A deep and bouncing key line rides throughout this track, allowing the vocals to stay above it all, creating a fantastic range of harmony. Subtle hints of trance and progressive house lie deep within, but this track is pure indie-dance goodness. If you think you’ve heard all RAC mixes, check this one out. Smooth grooves and sunny afternoons.

YACHT – Second Summer (RAC mix)

Until next time,
Reid.
